USS Tulsa Community Reception

For the first time since it’s commissioning in 2019, the City of Tulsa will host members of the USS Tulsa (LCS-16) crew to strengthen the bonds of the community with its namesake ship.

The crew will have several scheduled appearances and events across the city and surrounding area from May 2-4, 2022. Their visit aims to bring awareness of the United States Navy through media outreach, community visits, and volunteerism while allowing the crew to experience some of the rich and diverse culture the area has to offer. It will enable the crew to bring the sailors to visit the city firsthand and interact with her citizens. They, in turn, will take back what they have learned to the ship’s crew to cultivate a sense of belonging to Tulsa.
