Grants are available between $1,000-$10,000.

Grants are offered to help businesses to pay for crisis or emergency relief are still available. Grant applications for capital improvements for those looking to take their business/property to the next level are no longer being taken due to limited funding.

Deadlines & Key Dates

Please carefully review the deadlines and key dates below. Late application submissions will not be considered, and late receipts may not be reimbursed.

Crisis and Emergency Relief Deadlines

Relief Application Deadline:

Notification of Award: 
Within 1 week of submission*

Projects must be completed – and receipts submitted for reimbursement – within 30 days of notification of award or before August 15, whichever is sooner.

* for needs of $3,000 or greater, an additional week may be required before notification can be sent

This project is supported by an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Community Grant through the City of Tulsa. The grant is designed to provide relief following the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionally impacted some of Tulsa’s most vulnerable residents.

Eligibility

• Businesses located in a commercial property or a commercial property in the Kendall Whittier Main Street boundaries as defined in the map to the right.
• Applicants must submit all the required documentation along with the application to be considered. This includes, but is not limited to, quotes, renderings (if appropriate), photos and written explanation. All applicants must be submitted in full by the deadline. 
• Applicants requesting funding to make improvements to a leased commercial property must include a letter of approval from the property owner.
• To receive funds, grantees must comply with federal procurement standards, including but not limited to full and open competition in contractors/vendors, use of small or minority-owned businesses when possible and bonding requirements. KWMS will provide a full copy of procurement standards upon request.
• Businesses must have been in operation prior to March 1, 2020.
• Grants will be available only until available funds are awarded. 

Additional Criteria

Applicants should reply ‘yes’ to at least one of the questions below to be eligible for the grant.

• Will the business close (temporary or permanently) without this grant?
• Did the applicant recently undergo a crisis/emergency that requires relief? 
• Will this grant help take the business to the next level?

Priority

Funding is limited. Any applicant who meets the requirements above and to the right is eligible to apply. However, priority will be given to the following:

• Applications with multiple ‘yes’ answers in the additional criteria to the right.
• Projects that will enhance the overall visual appeal of Kendall Whittier.
• Projects that ultimately benefit other businesses in the district.

All decisions and award amounts are made according to the greatest needs and largest impact with the overall goal of maximizing KWMS’s investment. Applicants should provide as much detail as possible to assist the task force in its decision.

Relief and Capital Improvement
Grant Application

Fill out the application before the deadlines listed above!

Please be as thorough as possible in completing the application. This will assist the grant committee during review for quickest turn around. Applications should be complete when submitted.

If the application is being made by someone other than the property owner, written permission from the property owner allowing the improvements must be submitted with the application.

Include all supporting documentation in application or via email to sydney@visitKendallWhittier.com before the deadline.


Criterios de Selección

• Negocios ubicados en una propiedad comercial o una propiedad comercial dentro de los límites de Kendall Whittier Main Street según se muestran en el mapa a la derecha.
• Para ser considerados los solicitantes deben entregar toda la documentación requerida junto con el formulario de solicitud antes de la fecha límite. Esta incluye, pero sin limitarse a: cotizaciones, planos, fotos y una descripción escrita
• Solicitantes que requieran fondos para mejorar una propiedad comercial en alquiler deben incluir una carta de autorización del dueño de la propiedad.
• Para recibir fondos, los beneficiarios deben cumplir las normas federales de contratación, incluyendo, pero sin limitarse a ello, la libre competencia entre contratistas y vendedores, el uso de negocios pequeños o propiedad de minorías y requerimientos de fianzas. KWMS proveerá una copia de las normas de contratación si se solicita.
• Los negocios deben de haber empezado sus operaciones antes del 1ro de marzo, 2020.
• Los subsidios estarán disponibles mientras haya disponibilidad de fondos.

Criterios Adicionales

Los solicitantes deben responder ‘si’ a por lo menos una de las siguientes preguntas:

• ¿Cerrará el negocio (temporal o permanentemente) sin este subsidio?
• ¿Ha pasado el solicitante por una crisis o emergencia que requiere ayuda?
• ¿Llevará este subsidio el negocio al próximo nivel?

Priority

Los fondos son limitados. Cualquier solicitante que cumpla con los requisitos anteriores y a la derecha es elegible para aplicar. Se le dará prioridad a:

• Solicitudes que hayan respondido más de un ‘si’ en los criterios adicionales.
• Proyectos que mejoren la apariencia visual de Kendall Whittier.
• Proyectos que beneficien otros negocios en el distrito.

Todas las concesiones de fondos se hacen atendiendo a la mayor necesidad y el mayor impacto, con la meta de maximizar la inversión de KWMS’s. Solicitantes deben proveer tantos detalles como sea necesario para ayudar al grupo de trabajo a tomar su decisión.
