April 5, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for a FREE community screening with expert Q&A as part of the 2023 Indie Lens Pop-Up season. Each screening includes a FREE documentary with intro by host Sydney Alison (Kendall Whittier Main Street Community Engagement Coordinator), a post-film Q&A with local experts, sign language interpreting from TSHA, and open captioning on the films.
This month, see the new social justice doc “Free Chol Soo Lee” followed by Q&A with Phil Armstrong (President and CEO, The Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice) and John Thao (Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Desi American community advocate for equity and representation).
About the film: In 1970s San Francisco, 20-year-old Korean immigrant Chol Soo Lee is racially profiled and convicted of a Chinatown gang murder. After spending years fighting to survive, investigative journalist K.W. Lee takes a special interest in his case, igniting an unprecedented social justice movement.
