Kendall Whittier Main Street invites community members to come have a drink with them this Sunday at the KWMS Mixer.

The mixer will take place from 2:30-4:30 p.m. March 27 at Bar 473, a patio bar located at 2224 E. Admiral Blvd. The first 50 guests will receive a free drink ticket courtesy of the mixer sponsor, Method Group. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. The venue is 21 and up.

“The mixer is an opportunity for neighbors, residents and KW visitors to share their goals and ideas for the future of Kendall Whittier Main Street, including where we want to go and how we will get there,” said Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director of KMWS. “It’s also a chance to talk to KWMS Board of Directors about recent successes or areas to improve.”

The mixer will include different “stations” reflecting the different focus areas of Kendall Whittier Main Street for specific conversations by topic, or to learn more if someone is interested in participating in a project.

“This is definitely a casual event, but we did want to offer an opportunity to speak in more depth about specific projects or focuses,” Jackson Seay said. “It’s different from previous community forums in that way.”

The KWMS focuses / stations are:

  • Design + Beautification – making KW look good!
  • Activations & Promotions – planning fun activities & getting people to KW!
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility – making sure KW is for everyone!
  • Fundraising – sustainable funding to complete above projects!
  • Organization – strong volunteer base and business support to complete projects!

Kendall Whittier Main Street also has “task forces” that help plan Kendall Whittier events, such as the Kendall Whittier Arts Festival and the Los Festivales y Mercados cultural series.

“We want to hear from everyone, even if you can’t attend the mixer,” Jackson Seay said. “Please reach out to me if you’re curious about learning more or getting involved in KWMS moving forward!”

Those interested in learning more, but who can’t make it to the mixer, should call/text 918-633-1394 or email info@visitKendallWhittier.com.
