Storming Caesar’s Palace – FREE Indie Lens Pop-Up screening

March 1, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Kick off Women’s History Month at a FREE community screening of this new doc as part of the 2023 Indie Lens Pop-Up season. Includes a post-film community discussion led by host Sydney Alison (Kendall Whittier Main Street Community Engagement Coordinator), with sign language interpreting from TSHA, and open captioning during the film screening.
About March’s film: After losing her job as a hotel worker in Las Vegas, Ruby Duncan joined a welfare rights group of mothers who defied notions of the “welfare queen.” In a fight for guaranteed income, Ruby and other equality activists took on the Nevada mob in organizing a massive protest that shut down Caesars Palace.
The film will make its debut on OETA/PBS beginning Monday, March 20th.
Indie Lens Pop-Up is a FREE neighborhood series that brings people together for film screenings and community-driven conversations. Coming next month, see “Free Chol Soo Lee” with free admission on Wed 4/5, 7:00p
