Kendall Whittier is the place to be on Small Business Saturday with a plethora of locally-owned businesses and fun, engaging activities throughout the day all over the area.
With “micro-events” in three different areas of Kendall Whittier, shoppers will want to stay in Kendall Whittier all day long. From a shoppers’ breakfast – and free swag bags – in the morning to a kids-focused afternoon all the way through happy hour at some of Tulsa’s best breweries.
“Small Business Saturday is the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and is focused around shopping local for the holidays,” said Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director of Kendall Whittier Main Street. “This year, Kendall Whittier is the place to be to celebrate! Not only is there great shopping, but also a bunch of activities going on all throughout the district!”
All activities are Nov. 26. Join the Facebook event.
Attendees can start their day in Whittier Square, 1 S. Lewis Ave. Stop by the KWMS booth between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. for free pastries from Pancho Anaya and coffee from She Brews Coffee, while supplies last. The first 50 attendees will receive a FREE Shop Small tote bag full of coupons, flyers and goodies!
From there, it’s time to get ahead on your holiday shopping. Stop by Kendall Whittier businesses to find the best gifts for your loved ones. Not sure where to start? Check out the Shop KW tab on our website!
After a tasty lunch in the district, stop by the Shops at Mother Road Market, 1102 S. Lewis Ave., with the kiddos between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. There, you’ll find free hot cocoa from Gambill’s and free face painting by Rainbow Girl.
Hot Toast Music Company will perform from 1-2 p.m., and Eleanor’s Bookshop will have a story time starting at 2 p.m. There’s also a Make and Take Art activity – plus 20 percent off jewelry – at Curations by Gilcrease.
For those who haven’t stopped by the Kendall Whittier Pop Up Crawl, visit Heirloom Rustic Ales, Whitty Books, Josh New Photography and Addis Ceramics to shop from 24 makers set up for one day only. The Pop Up Crawl is from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
With all that shopping, Small Business Saturday enthusiasts are bound to get thirsty! Head over to Marshall’s Brewing, Cabin Boys Brewery and American Solera for happy hour and a fun, interactive BINGO game from 4-6 p.m.
Grab a BINGO card at any of the breweries and play along. Spots include purchasing a pour from the brewery, grabbing some food, complimenting a stranger and buying some merchandise (hello more holiday shopping!). Bartenders can help stamp your BINGO card. Turn in completed cards to any bartender for a chance to win a prize!
“While there are fun activations throughout the day, Small Business Saturday is really about supporting small business owners and your neighbors this holiday season, so don’t forget to cross some things off that shopping list while you’re out and about,” Jackson Seay said. “Did you know that shop owners do a little happy dance after every purchase?”
