Malinda Blank
Secretary, Board of Directors

Malinda Blank usually has a smile on her face. Her cheerful attitude and infectious laugh make meetings more fun and the occasional, inevitable difficult situation easier to manage. Additionally, she’s a diligent Board secretary, a talented artist and a hard worker.

She joined the Kendall Whittier Main Street Board of Directors in the summer of 2020, right as businesses were starting to slowly reopen from the pandemic. She wanted to help support the small businesses and the district to thrive.

After just one year on the Board, she stepped into a leadership role as the Secretary of the Board. Serving on the Executive Committee has allowed her to have a larger impact.

As an artist herself, Malinda’s passion translated into her serving on the Arts Festival Committee, taking a lead role in planning the event and in helping select and place vendors. She even attended the event with her business, Blank Canvas Craft.

Staff Says: “Malinda is always the first one to show up to meetings and is always seeking ways to better serve the organization. To help with a recent project, Malinda gave up her evenings to spend hours folding hundreds of pieces of paper to ensure the project was completed on time. Plus, she tells the best stories!” – Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director

Malinda Says: “I believe in the mission and work of this organization — focusing on the revitalization of the community without marginalization. KWMS has made a real investment in this area that has benefited all while continuing to look to the future and other possibilities.” – Malinda Blank

Fun Fact About Malinda: Malinda’s current TV obsession is Columbo “always and forever.”

Every month in 2022, Kendall Whittier Main Street will be announcing a Volunteer Spotlight. This may be an individual who has gone above and beyond on a project for Kendall Whittier Main Street that month, or it may be a long-time volunteer who deserves recognition for years of service.
