Applications are open for the 2022 Kendall Whittier Arts Festival, a celebration of local artists and Tulsa’s vibrant art scene set for Oct. 15.
During the Arts Festival, Kendall Whittier comes alive with local art vendors, gallery shows, food trucks, live music, interactive art and kids’ activities, creating an environment to enjoy and foster the arts for the whole family.
The Kendall Whittier Arts Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Admiral Boulevard between Lewis Avenue and Yorktown Avenue. The majority of the event will be outdoor in the street with some indoor activities and shopping.
“The Kendall Whittier Arts Festival is all about our local makers and artists! It’s a place to display handcrafted art from Tulsa and the surrounding region,” said Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director of Kendall Whittier Main Street, the event host. “In 2021, we had more than 60 makers and artists; It was amazing! There was something for everyone and at every price point!”
Applications are open for artists, food truck and breweries. Vendor fees are reduced by about 30 percent for the early bird special that is only open for another two weeks, until 11:59 p.m. on June 15.
“It’s the best rate, so if you know you want to do the Kendall Whittier Arts Festival, we encourage you to apply now,” Jackson Seay said.
After the early bird rate expires, the fee for a 10×10 space will be $85 and the cost of a 6-foot indoor table will be $60. Vendors can also pay for add-ons, including an opportunity to “Pick Your Spot” for $25 or have a tent provided by the hosts for $65.
Applications are open through September 15, which is also when booth fees are due.
“We try to communicate with vendors frequently throughout the process,” Jackson Seay said. “We’ll let you know if you’re accepted within two weeks of receiving your application. We know it’s important to know so vendors can plan out their schedules.”
Allowable items include – but are not limited to – original handmade clay, drawing/pastel, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, handmade body products, wood and mixed media works.
Vendors will have time to set up their booth before the event begins and will tear down immediately after. Kendall Whittier Main Street does not take a percentage of sales.
