Grub, beer the stars of this foodie event

Back by popular demand, the K-Dub Grub & Suds is a beer-drinking, food-eating end-of-summer celebration.

Scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 24, K-Dub Grub & Suds, will feature Kendall Whittier restaurants and breweries in a single, self-guided foodie experience. The first Grub & Suds event was in February 2020, hosted by Kendall Whittier Main Street.

“Last year was a blast! People ate and drank their way through the tour and left with full bellies,” said Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director of Kendall Whittier Main Street. “Space is limited for this kind of event, and tickets are expected to go quickly.”

Tickets go on sale online at a special Early Bird rate on July 15 at noon central. The Early Bird rate of $40 will be good through 11:59 p.m. July 22. Use the promo code EARLYBIRD for the discount. K-Dub Grub & Suds is from 6-9 p.m., but given that it’s a self-guided experience, guests can arrive — and leave – however it works best in their schedules. The event will take place at the breweries at 6th/7th and Utica/Wheeling. Guests can start anywhere and make their way through in any order.

Tickets include tastes from a variety of restaurants and two 4oz samples from each brewery. It also includes a custom taster glass and a $5 Uber credit to get home safely.

Participating businesses will be announced later in July. Last year, more than 10 restaurants and four breweries participated.
