Kendall Whittier Main Street is looking for a part-time groundskeeper and landscaper to maintain and enhance the visual appeal of the Kendall Whittier historic district.
The groundskeeper will work an average of 20 hours a week throughout the summer months and into the fall. Hours will be reduced to roughly 10 hours a week in the winter.
Responsibilities and duties include developing a sustainable planting and beautification plan, including installing and planting 16 new Kendall Whittier planters; mowing, edging and maintaining the Whittier Square parking lot and other areas; clearing trash and debris from streets and sidewalks; planting, watering, trimming and maintaining flower beds, trees and crepe myrtles; and weed and graffiti removal.
An ideal candidate would have an Associate’s Degree or higher in landscape architecture, landscape design, horticulture, or similar field or 1-3 years employment as a groundskeeper or landscaper.
Candidates must be self-motivated and reliable with a strong worth ethic. Compensation is based on experience.
