Calvin Moniz
Board of Directors

Calvin Moniz has the drive and the commitment to see Kendall Whittier continue to thrive, grow and serve the community.

He is often the first to volunteer, whether it is working a booth at an event or stuffing envelopes late into the evening. To help with a recent mailer, Calvin spent more than 15 hours folding papers and stuffing and sealing envelopes.

Calvin joined the Kendall Whittier Main Street Board of Directors in the summer of 2020, and quickly began his support of the district – connecting KWMS with the University of Tulsa fraternity Kappa Alpha Order as a volunteer group and establishing and leading a new committee focused directly on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

As a resident of Kendall Whittier, Calvin has a personal connection with progress within the district and neighborhoods.

“My favorite thing about living in Kendall Whittier is that it is so close to so many things,” Calvin said. “The best part is much of your needs can be found in Kendall Whittier with the Farmers’ Market; shops, restaurants, and bars; and entertainment.”

Staff Says: “Calvin Moniz is a people-person. He cares about the organizations he becomes a part of, so he’s eager to help when he can. He’s so friendly, and that translates to being great at making connections! He’s just truly a people-person.” – Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director.

Calvin Says: “I volunteer with Kendall Whittier Main Street because I care about the economic development of my neighborhood. As a resident of Kendall Whittier, it is important to me to have a safe, vibrant, and diverse business district.” – Calvin Moniz

Fun Fact About Calvin: If Calvin could be a contestant on any reality show, he would choose “90 Day Fiancé.”

Every month in 2022, Kendall Whittier Main Street will be announcing a Volunteer Spotlight. This may be an individual who has gone above and beyond on a project for Kendall Whittier Main Street that month, or it may be a long-time volunteer who deserves recognition for years of service.
