Introducing our Volunteer Spotlight for the month of March, Sam Extance! Sam is the Destination Districts Manager for the Tulsa Planning Office, the Chair of the Economic Development Committee for the Tulsa Route 66 Commission, an Ex-Officio Board Member of the Kendall Whittier Improvement District, a Board Member and the Chair of the Marketing Committee for Tulsa Bike Share, and a Member of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association.

Staff Says: “Sam is one of the hardest working people I’ve met. Even when she has a lot on her plate, she never hesitates to lend a helping hand not just to us at KWMS, but the other Main Street programs in Tulsa as well. It’s very clear that she has a passion for keeping our city thriving!” – Sydney Alison, Community Engagement Coordinator

Sam Says: “For me, volunteering is an expression of love – love for my city, love for a district that is rich in arts, culture, and history, and love for my fellow Tulsans.”

Fun Fact About Sam: Her current favorite TV obsessions are Ted Lasso, 1923, and The Last of Us (especially episode 3)!

Kendall Whittier Main Street announces a monthly Volunteer Spotlight. This may be an individual who has gone above and beyond on a project for Kendall Whittier Main Street that month, or it may be a long-time volunteer who deserves recognition for years of service.
