As we kick off a three-event cultural series called Los Festivales y Mercados later this month, Kendall Whittier Main Street is providing an opportunity to shop with local vendors and catch a viewing of ‘Encanto’ for free. Join the Facebook event here.
Los Festivales y Mercados: Cine is slated for July 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Heirloom Rustic Ales, 2113 E. Admiral Blvd. The indoor-outdoor event will offer food and goods from local multi-cultural vendors, a free kids zone and a viewing of Encanto in Spanish with English subtitles. The event is free and open to the public.
“We are thrilled to be finally kicking off this series and excited to host a ‘cinema’ themed event featuring the latest Disney craze, Encanto,” said Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director of Kendall Whittier Main Street. “In addition, vendors will be there with Mexican imports and homemade items.”
Vendors and the kids zone will be available the whole event, and Encanto will start at 12:30 p.m. Popcorn will be provided by Akdar Shrine.
Heirloom Rustic Ales is an all ages venue. They will be open to the public and will have beer and non-alcoholic drinks for sale. Food trucks will be on site as well.
“We are very excited to bring back this series with new, fun themes and a wide array of entertainment for the whole family,” says community engagement coordinator Sydney Alison.
