In an effort to light up Kendall Whittier in holiday cheer, Kendall Whittier Main Street is reimbursing businesses up to $100 for decorating and has developed a contest for best decorated business.

Available to any business or property in the Kendall Whittier Main Street boundary, the only guideline was that the lights and decorations should be publicly visible from the streets and sidewalks.

Businesses simply submit their receipt(s) to KWMS, and the organization will issue a check. [More information]

“We wanted to make it as easy as possible and let businesses show off their personalities a bit in the process,” said Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director of KWMS. “So far, several businesses have issued receipts but we know a number of others have increased their decorations from previous years.”

To add a bit more fun, KWMS created a $500 grand prize for best decorated as voted on by the public! Starting Dec. 15 on Instagram stories (@visitKendallWhittier), a poll will be posted to choose one of two decorations. The winner of each poll will move on to Round 2 and so on until a grand prize winner is selected.
