Kendall Whittier’s most delicious contest, Eat Eight, will wrap up for 2020 on July 31 after a four-month extension.

Eat Eight generally happens during the month of March with entries due on March 31. Kendall Whittier Main Street, the event’s host organization, extended the deadline in mid-March after restaurants and eateries were forced to close due to COVID-19.

“We wanted those who started the contest to still get to finish it, so we opted to extend it until after the participating businesses reopened,” said Jessica Jackson, KWMS Executive Director. “Most business have now reopened regular hours or have served from their food truck.”

Participating businesses are: 918 Coffee, Calaveras Mexican Grill, Cancun International Restaurant, Dena’s Lebanese Cuisine, Fair Fellow Coffee Roasters, Freddie’s Hamburgers, Jane’s Delicatessen and Pancho Anaya Bakery.

As part of the contest, participants each at those eight Kendall Whittier restaurants and collect stamps. Once all eight are completed, entry forms are turned in for a chance to win the $800 drawing.

Once complete, entry forms can be mailed or dropped off to the Main Street office at 2205 E. Admiral Blvd., or emailed to info@visitKendallWhittier.com. The deadline is 9 p.m. Friday, July 31. Any participant who turned in their entry form in March is still eligible.

The winner will be selected and notified in early August.
