Come to this reading and panel presented by Osage writers and artists who have collaborated to create the community zine ‘Osage Reconnection,’ with contributions of art and writing from Wazhazhe people along the theme of reconnecting with our people and culture.
We are coming up on one year since the publication of the ‘Osage Reconnection’ zine, which we have distributed in Osage County, and also through mailings to regional groups, and by visiting meetings like the NorCal Osages and United Osages of Southern California. In celebration, we are hosting a gathering at Whitty Books to reconvene with contributors to the zine, and to dialogue through a panel and readings by contributors.
The panel will discuss the experience of being an Osage poet/songwriter, and then open things up for all contributors to share poetry, songs and words at an open mic reading afterward.
We invite you to attend this gathering. For those who cannot make it, we will setup a livestream (registration details forthcoming).
We hope to see you there, and look forward to the conversation!
Sincerely,
Co-editors Chelsea T. Hicks & Aimee Inglis with Whitty Books Host Victoria Moore
