Join us for a FREE Special Event screening on Tuesday, January 18th at 6:30pm of MISSING IN BROOKS COUNTY at Circle Cinema and brought to you by Indie Lens Pop-Up. Arrive early. Seating limited.
Producer/Editor Jacob Bricca will join us after the screening for a zoom Q&A and conversation with our host Gitzel Puente as well as taking questions and comments from the audience.
Film Synopsis: Migrants go missing in rural South Texas more than anywhere else in the U.S. For many families whose loved ones have disappeared after crossing the Mexico border, activist detective Eddie Canales is their last hope. Unlock the mysteries and confront the agonizing facts of life and death in Brooks County, 80 miles north of the border.
Jacob Bricca, ACE (producer/editor) has edited over a dozen feature documentaries, including Sundance Special Jury Prize Winner The Bad Kids (Independent Lens) and the international theatrical hit Lost in La Mancha. Fluent in Spanish, Jacob brings experience editing multicultural stories like Precious Knowledge (PBS). A member of the American Cinema Editors, he is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona’s School of Theatre, Film & Television.
MISSING IN BROOKS COUNTY will air on OETA/PBS beginning January 31st.
