Bloody Mary’s will be pouring at the Circle Bar to kickoff Saturday as artist Tate Steinsiek returns to talk horror with Kris Rose at a FREE discussion in the Circle Gallery.

Oklahoma Native Tate Steinsiek is an award winning SFX Prosthetics artist, Conceptual Artist, and Director. Since the inception of his Makeup Special Effects Company “Ill Willed Productions, Tate Directed films and coordinated Special Makeup Effects and Creature Design in 14 countries. Tate is a 2 time Finalist on Season’s 1 of SYFY’s FX Artist Competition series FACE OFF, and again on the FACE OFF ALL-STARS. IWP was established in 2006 on NYC’s Bowery Blvd, an artist collective featuring other NY creatives like Ronnie Cutrone, Eric Foss, and Norman Reedus. Tate provided Special Makeup FX for mainstays such as Saturday Night Live, Law & Order, and designed characters and creatures for multiple History & Discovery Channel series. It was in NY that he worked in the FXMU Dept. for THE AMAZING
SPIDERMAN, assisting Ve Neil on the Lizard practical Makeups. In 2019 Tate was nominated for a SATURN AWARD for his Prosthetic work on the Mel Gibson/Vince Vaughn crime drama DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE. As a Filmmaker, Tate’s film’s have screened and won Festival Awards internationally. Tate won “Best of the Next in Horror” at SCREAMFEST for his film CLOWN, starring Timothee Chalamet and Norman Reedus. Most recently Tate directed the feature film reboot of the 90’s Full Moon cult classic CASTLE FREAK, for FANGORIA FILMS. Currently, Tate operates his Prosthetic and Creature FX Studio in Tulsa Oklahoma, working more and more on locally shot projects with Oklahoma native artists. Tate works with the CHEROKEE NATION FILM OFFICE teaching FX Workshops to up and coming artists in the local community, as well as taking his Workshop Series around the world. Between 2015 and 2020 he taught dozens of workshops in 11 countries. In the coming months, Tate is planning on beginning a steady offering of Makeup FX related courses from his studio in Tulsa.
