Juan Miret
Board of Directors

Juan Miret is usually found with a smile on his face, a snazzy wooden bowtie on his collar and a churro in his hand.

Juan joined the Kendall Whittier Main Street board just two months ago and has already made quite a splash on the organization with thoughtful insight at the Board Retreat, a full day of labor at Los Festivales y Mercados and even with an armful of tasty treats at his first official Board meeting.

Not a stranger to the neighborhood, Juan was named the Director of Advancement at San Miguel School of Tulsa — right in the heart of Kendall Whittier — a year ago. He immediately began connecting with Kendall Whittier Main Street and soon joined the Los Festivales y Mercados event committee.

Between his enthusiasm, connections and assistance, he quickly became a very logical fit for the Board of Directors. In addition to serving on the KWMS Board, Juan is the incoming chairman for the Tulsa Latin American Chamber of Commerce and the marketing chairman of the Coalition of Hispanic Organizations. He also serves on the Mayo School Foundation Board, the Gathering Place Multicultural Advisory Committee and the Gilcrease Museum Community Advisory Board.

Staff Says: “Juan is new to Kendall Whittier Main Street Board of Directors, and he put in more hours as a volunteer in his first month on the Board than any other director! He’s truly a gem, and one we’re excited to have on our team!”  – Jessica Jackson Seay, executive director.

Juan Says: “Kendall Whittier has a very special place in my heart. It’s a neighborhood that combines the past with a breeze of the future. The epicenter of diversity. It has so much history, fun stories, and culture. It’s Tulsa in a box. But an awesome box!” – Juan Miret

Fun Fact About Juan: If he could join any fictional family, it would be the Ricardos. Sounds like Juan’s got some ‘splaining to do!

Every month in 2022, Kendall Whittier Main Street will be announcing a Volunteer Spotlight. This may be an individual who has gone above and beyond on a project for Kendall Whittier Main Street that month, or it may be a long-time volunteer who deserves recognition for years of service.
